If come from inside you, always right one!
This is from the Karate Kid ( 1984 ). Now, like you, I have seen this movie many times. But this scene never fully resonated till recently. Miyagi tells Daniel to try to create a Bonsai Tree. He is afraid he will mess it up. Now that fear of "messing things up" can keep a person from trying many new things and having many new, wonderful experiences. Miyagi's advice is brilliant. He says, close your eyes and picture the tree. Right down to every last detail. He tells him to do this first, which is very important. Now, in our case, we can liken the tree to our whole life. Write down your life. The one you want to create. Begin it all with the sentence, " I am so grateful and happy now that my life is..." and begin. Use your imagination, right down to the very last detail. Do it in love. ( No negative wishes! )Where you will live. What you will do for a living. Whom you will share it with. You get the idea. Now, of course, like trimming the tree, you can make adjustments later. But every night, before bed, review this list of what you want. Then like Daniel, close your eyes and really picture it. Feel it. When you awaken in the morning, ask yourself ( I do it in Miyagi's voice lol ) " Remember picture? " then, Make like picture. Lastly Daniel asks if his picture is the right one. The answer? "If come from inside you, ALWAYS right one!"
Our Attitude Determines Our Actions
At times it can be difficult to break the habit of reacting negatively to the unfavorable circumstances that we face day to day. We somehow fall into the thinking that someone else has the power to "Make" you mad or "Make" you frustrated or "Make" you anything. Well, they may do something disagreeable, but how we react is ALWAYS up to us. We must be careful of reacting so negatively to the situations we don't like because if we think about it long enough, we will just get more of it. How you ask? What? That's right. Check out Earl Nightingale as he breaks it down. One of the best minds for getting to the source of your power.
You are closer than you think!
Sometimes it may seem like some distant destination, this future event that moves while you chase it and that it seems always out of reach. Well it's not. Just when it seems hopeless, you try again. Make the decision to build a new habit that helps you make those small adjustments and then keep moving. Don't just think you can, don't just believe you can. Stand up! Get moving! and MOST important, "EMBODY YOUR BELIEF WITH A PHYSICAL CERTAINTY" that you can accomplish anything, and that little act of matching the physical to the mental will give you that Super Charge to move you closer to your accomplishment. Here is Tony Robbins with tips on how to do just that. Enjoy your Tuesday!
How bad do YOU want it?
Monday morning! This begins the week which is sure to be one of big accomplishment! Get moving! Get moving so that your dreams can breathe. When your dreams suffocate, they die. How do you breathe when your dreams die? Only you can give them the breath they need to live. Here is a great video of Eric Thomas giving a speech about needing to succeed as bad as needing to breathe!
Some Kinetic Energy - Keep Moving Forward!
Almost everyone is familiar with the inspirational story of America's beloved fictional Heavyweight Champion of the World Rocky Balboa. Here is the memorable speech from the movie with the same title, but done with kinetic typography. Kinetic Typography is the technical name for "moving text"—is an animation technique mixing motion and text to express ideas using video animation. It kind of helps to see the words so you can apply them to yourself. The message? "KEEP MOVING FORWARD!" I love this and I hope you do too!
First Rule Of Success - You Gotta Love It!
Here is Steve Jobs, Co-Founder of Apple, talking about how important it is to love what you do. It defines us. It is usually the first thing we talk about to someone we open up to who is interested in getting to know us. We share it because at the core, we are what we think about. When you have a passion for something and you love it so much that the mere thought puts an instant smile on your face, explore that as the first option for what you should be doing in your life and if it is something that brings benefit and value to others, find a way to create it and give it and watch something wonderful happen!
Give It Your Absolute Best!
If time permits, I would suggest this movie to anyone. The clip is from the film "Facing The Giants", a story about a coach of a small high school football team and his personal fight against adversity. When it seems all is stacking up against you, when you think you can't go on, when you feel like you are ready to give up, remember, you have the energy and the power to go much further than you think. Do not allow yourself to be limited by past failures. Do not allow yourself to be intimidated by any obstacle. There is no obstacle that you cannot go through, under, over or around. Just go. One step at a time. And when you shake and tremble through the step that appears to be all you can do.... go one more. Why? Because you can!
